The friendly owners allow free overnight parking, except when the pub is closed, during which it costs £10 per night. The pub is closed on Mondays to Wednesdays, so it's best to call or email in advance to secure a parking spot.
The park nearby is a pleasant place to stop and the pub serves delicious food. However, it's important to note that the designated parking area is in the pub's busy beer garden, which may be uncomfortable on hot days. Yesterday was not too crowded, though. The restroom facilities are only available when the pub is open, and they were closed this morning. It's a beautiful area with many forest attractions nearby.
Parking was available on a sloped grass area that was part of the beer garden/play area. The soft grass caused our vehicle to get stuck. However, there was a hard stand area where we were directed to park after moving some picnic benches. The pub staff even towed our vehicle onto the hard stand. The food was decent but the menu selection was limited. We noticed a couple of electric hookups, although they were not offered to us. It may be worth asking about them upon arrival at the pub.
