There is a small area of lava gravel, nestled among trees, which provides complete shade from the nearby honey and oil boutique. It is situated near an old farmhouse that narrowly escaped destruction during the lava flows of 1992.
We stumbled upon a secluded spot while avoiding a bright carpark. This hidden area offers tranquility and is not easily seen from the road. Although there are some littered tissues, it provides great access to the lava flow and walking trails. The ground here is stable.
In October 2020, when we tried to park there, we found the place filled with garbage, resembling a landfill. So, we decided to go to the camping site in Zaffarena Etnea instead. Although basic, it was clean and tidy.
