Xilxes has opened a new public parking area for motorhomes in Castelló Sud. Situated near the beach, this regulated parking facility offers 4 spaces but does not provide any services. Visitors can also explore the nearby attractions such as the old municipal laundry, historical houses affected by the Civil War, a viewpoint, the Els Plans area for paella, birdwatching spots, and enjoy the local gastronomy.
It is not recommended to visit during the peak season due to disturbances caused by young people smoking and drinking, loud music, and reckless driving. However, it was a completely different experience when we visited last year in the fall, with peace and order.
There is a possibility of facing difficulties while parallel parking on a road with residential areas. It seemed calm in January, but we chose not to stay as we preferred off-road parking. The location appeared well-maintained, and it is commendable that the municipality provides accommodations for motorhome owners. However, it would have been helpful if road parking had been mentioned in the description or depicted in the pictures.
