Border control occasionally checks documents and kindly advises guests to swim only up to the middle of the river, which marks the border. Remember to bring mosquito repellant to ward off the insects. Located just 2 km away, a convenient "mom and pop store" is available for any shopping needs. Guests can enjoy a pleasant night's rest in this scenic spot. Please note that due to its proximity to the border, there are security cameras in the area.
This is a quiet spot with a toilet (a hole in the ground) accessible by a gravel road near the Russian border. Friendly Lithuanian border guards checked our papers and advised us not to swim to the Russian side. There is a fire pit and beach, making it popular with anglers and locals.
