There is a free parking area near the Zurich South home gardens with spacious marked spaces. From here, you can access various trails that offer a pleasant walk through the Weiher nature reserve. The area is peaceful, mainly frequented by walkers, joggers, and dog owners. It is also possible to spend the night here without any issues. After a short 200-meter walk past the orchards, you will come across a barbecue area surrounded by trees. The area has tables, wooden benches, and a stone fountain, providing a stunning view of the Sihl valley and Üetliberg.
During the night, there is a lot of noise from animals, people walking, running, or walking their dogs. We stayed for one night and a drunk man hit our camper. The street to get there is currently under remodeling and the road is quite narrow for entry.
The parking area didn't appear to be open to the public and the farm residents seemed unhappy when we arrived with our car. We decided to find another place to park.
