The area is quiet and peaceful at night with a dog poop bin. A bin bag is attached for general rubbish. Dog walkers usually arrive around 5-6am. Nearby woods provide a nice stroll. Be cautious of large potholes on the way to the car park.

Deerness-view woodland offers a small free gravel car park equipped with picnic tables and walking trails. There is a barrier, but it has height restrictions. Deerness-view woodland is situated between Usher Moor and Esh Winning on B6302 (Cockhouse Lane) and serves as a pleasant spot for a short break.
