SvanYARD Camping is a simple and pleasant camping site located near Svanland. The owner, Mischa, can speak Georgian and Russian, while his cousin David knows Spanish and French. The sanitary facilities, including toilets and hot showers, were very clean. During our stay, we were the only guests. There is an outdoor kitchen and seating area available, although we didn't use it. The spacious meadow behind the house offers flat areas, mainly for tents, but we were able to park our van there. To access the camping site, take the dirt road which can be found at coordinates 43.0491216, 42.7369257. Normally, someone is present at the gate located at the bottom of the road. Upon arrival, registration is required at the house, with entrance through the black gate on the street. There is no sewage disposal or electricity connection, although we didn't require them. WiFi is available near the house. Overall, we had a pleasant three-night stay, with the convenience of being able to walk to the town center.
We stayed here for 10 nights and had a great experience. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, even providing homemade specialties. They allowed us to leave our car for free while we went on a two-day hike. The bathroom facilities were clean and sufficient, and there was a nice covered seating area. The cost was 10 GEL per person and 5 GEL per washing machine.
This campground has a discriminatory attitude towards Russians as indicated by a sign at the entrance stating "This camping doesn't serve Russians." This may not be a suitable place to stay, especially if you find such attitudes offensive. It's important to be aware of the potential for ethnic discrimination if you choose to support this establishment.
