The Somerset Arms in Simington has a car park with space for up to 4 motorhomes. They offer delicious food and beer. It's recommended to call ahead before arriving. The location is near Avon and Kennet canal. There is no fee for overnight parking, but it is expected that you will have a meal and enjoy a drink while staying.
On Friday night around 10 pm, there were only two other work vans of similar size to ours. If there were more vehicles, it would have been challenging to maneuver our 6.3-meter van in and out. The pub had a good selection of real ale and the staff were friendly.
This is a great stop with a friendly and warm welcome. You can park your vehicle in the pub's car park and there is even free water and rubbish disposal available. The pub itself is not noisy and offers good food at reasonable prices. It is advisable to call ahead as the car park is used by both the pub and local residents. The entrance is narrow but can accommodate an 11-meter RV. The bar offers a good selection of ciders. Please note that there is no local shop nearby. I highly recommend this place.
