There is free parking available near the forest. It is a convenient location, just 20 minutes away from the city center by bike. Alternatively, there is a bus stop near the cemetery that also takes you to the city center. However, please note that staying overnight in this parking area is not allowed.
Great parking spot. In the morning from 6.00 am, joggers and dog owners start to arrive, but it hardly causes any disturbance. We stayed here for three nights. Tip: To save money, you can park at the nearby Park&Ride parking lot called Waldfriedhof for €5.00 and take the bus to Aachen with up to five people for the entire day!
We stayed for two nights, which was perfect for exploring Aachen by bike. During the daytime, the area can be quite noisy due to the busy road nearby. However, there is a pleasant hiking area available, with convenient trash bins for disposal.
This is a great spot located right by the forest. However, after 30 minutes, we were approached by an individual whose role was unclear, and they told us to leave after 3 hours. Taking a break is allowed, but overnight stays are strictly prohibited. We were informed that a follow-up visit will be conducted after the mentioned 3-hour limit. It's unfortunate that we can't stay longer.
