The "Niedersachsenhof" campsite, recommended by the German Camping Club (DCC), is located in Lower Saxony on the grounds of a former estate. Surrounded by agricultural and forest areas, it provides a peaceful and charming atmosphere. The campsite is conveniently situated just 5 km from the historic old town of Osnabrück, which can be easily accessed by car or bus. Cyclists can take a designated route with less traffic to reach the city center. There are also shops, sports facilities, and restaurants within walking distance. With spacious parking spaces for caravans, motorhomes, and tents, the "Niedersachsenhof" is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Osnabrück region.

The campsite has basic facilities. The facilities may appear outdated, but they are mostly clean. The campsite is old-fashioned and has many long-term campers. The pricing breakdown is detailed, for example, electricity can be charged based on time or consumption. The campsite manager was unfriendly towards us, which made us feel unwelcome.

Expensive campsite: 71€ for 2 nights, with 2 adults and 2 children, including a caravan and a car. The restroom facilities are clean but old-fashioned, costing 50¢ for showers and laundry. Many long-term campers, one of whom took our clothes and put them on a chair despite using an alarm clock. No activities for children. The campsite still follows stereotypical gender roles for tasks like emptying the toilet and operating the washing machine and dryer.
