We stayed at a lovely campground for two nights. The reception was very friendly and the bathroom facilities were clean and well-maintained.

Salix Mini Campsite is a newly renovated campsite run by an enthusiastic couple. It offers 10 pitches and is located in the peaceful Frisian countryside, near the village of Hitzum. From here, you can start your cycling adventure on the former horse tram route towards Franeker's 'het Binnenpad'. Don't miss a visit to the Planetarium in Franeker or the boat rental in Hitzum. The Wadden Sea dike is just 8 km away, with a scenic cycle path on the seawall. The vibrant town of Harlingen, only 7 km away, features a small beach, charming old buildings, and picturesque ports with both old and new ships. From Harlingen, you can also catch a ferry to the beautiful Wadden Islands of Terschelling and Vlieland. In Franeker, you can rent e-scooters and bicycles to explore the area. With numerous activities and events taking place in Friesland during the summer, you'll never run out of things to do.

This is a lovely and well-maintained camping site. The pitches are spacious and surrounded by plant-filled areas with gravel for campers. The small facilities building is clean and pleasant. The couple who run the site are very friendly and helpful. Bicycles are recommended for getting around. We stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time.
