The Osteana Refuge is situated in the hilly area of the Vladeasa and Meses Mountains, on the border of Cluj and Salaj counties in the town of Ciucea. It is conveniently located with access to three counties: Bihor, Cluj, and Salaj. The distances to nearby cities are: Oradea - 85 km, Cluj-Napoca -80 km, and Zalau - 65 km. The roads leading to the refuge are accessible throughout the year.
