The barrier was closed, but we stayed in the valley for two nights just before. The locals were extremely nice. There were bears around, judging by the tracks, although we didn't see any.

This location offers a peaceful and flat area where you can spend the night. It is located near a stream, although there are warning signs indicating the presence of bears in the area. Another minor aspect is that there might be a train passing by nearby. However, it is suitable for camper vans up to 6 meters in length, as it provides enough space for turning and leaving the area.

Due to bad weather, we were unable to reach the designated location. Instead, we parked on the grassy area just before the road splits. It was peaceful there, except for the occasional train passing by. A few locals drove past, but they didn't say anything. We also had some friendly visits from a few dogs.
