We spent two nights at the Ahlemeyer recreation area over the Pentecost holiday. We had a great campsite right by the lake, complete with a grill and private shelter for seating. The staff were all friendly and easy to deal with. The sanitary rooms, which included a toilet, shower, and sink, were cleaned every day. The surrounding paths were perfect for long walks and bike rides. Our dog had a great time too!
Depending on the camping area you end up in, the camping experience can range from pleasant to alright. The prices are decent, although on the higher side. It's important to note that quiet hours are only from midnight to 6 am, and the campsite seems to attract festival-goers, so it can be somewhat noisy.
We really enjoyed our stay. The campsite is located in a beautiful natural area, surrounded by the Weser meadows and some lovely lakes/ponds. The Weser cycling path also passes directly by the site, offering stunning landscapes in both directions. The new washroom facilities were great, although we did experience cold showers. We paid €27 for two adults with electricity for our motorhome, which we found to be reasonable.
