We parked our van near the lake to start hiking. There are many trails in the area, including one that starts just after the dam when coming from Jokkmok. There is also parking available for motorhomes nearby.
The road to the national park entrance is closed due to melting snow. It's difficult to turn around at the barrier. It’s best not to drive to the roadblock. For updates on when the road will reopen, call Laponia Service. Information on the phone number is available online.
The area is spacious and includes an outdoor toilet and fireplace. You can enjoy a 14 km round trip walk to Muddusfallet waterfall. The road is bumpy, especially a small bridge 3 km before the park, so drive slowly and carefully.
