The Altenau / Oberharz train station is a charming historic location that now serves as a quiet and peaceful resting spot. It offers around 30 parking spaces for convenient access. The station also provides a bread delivery service directly to your motorhome or caravan. It is an excellent base for starting your hiking or biking adventures in the area.
No access for motorhomes without toilets. Restrooms are closed at night and the owner does not allow urination in the forest. We were asked to leave with our Marco Polo. When asked for an alternative parking spot, the owner did not provide any recommendations. Overall, the owner was unfriendly and unhelpful. Avoid this place.
The new owners are friendly and helpful. The overnight stay now costs €10. The facilities for fresh water, gray water, and chemical toilets are in good condition. There are now functioning power connections available. The place is currently undergoing renovations to modernize it.
