Camping des Gorges is a lovely four-star campsite that offers shady pitches and a service area for campers. You can drain black water, and there is private access to the river. The campsite also features a very nice pool. The only downside is that the welcome and pool close at 7pm.
The reception was friendly and we liked the location, facilities, pool, snack bar, restaurant, and the nearby beautiful swimming area in the Ardèche. However, the grey water disposal area was not very practical as it was narrow and difficult to access with a large camper.
Beautiful campsite with spacious pitches to suit all tastes. Very peaceful location on the banks of the Ardèche River, with small beaches and swimming nearby. A lovely pool and well-maintained sanitary facilities. The village of St Martin d'Ardèche, with some shops, is a 15-minute walk along a picturesque riverside path. The campsite is operated by two dynamic young brothers who also run the excellent restaurant "La Paillotte". We had two enjoyable evenings there, with delicious meals made from fresh local produce and excellent service in a relaxed atmosphere. They have also implemented strict Covid-19 safety measures. Overall, we highly recommend this family-friendly campsite, where the campers are warmly welcomed and provided with helpful information by knowledgeable staff who are experts in their field. We look forward to returning to Camping Des Gorges for our next stay in the region.
