The Castilistar Pond is located 1.2km away from the nearby town. It offers a pleasant and easy walk around the pond, with a designated picnic area and benches. There are different parking spots available, and the village provides clear signs for accessing the pond. It is important to note that the last 100m of the path leading to the pond is a narrow track. The area has garbage bins and mobile coverage. Please be respectful of this sensitive area. Don't forget to also visit the upper part of the charming village of Castiliscar.
The surroundings are peaceful and serene, with the sounds of local fauna accompanying us. There is a lookout point and a trash can nearby. We recommend taking the path just before reaching the picnic area next to the lake. It is a 30-meter walk that leads to the end of the lake, where there is a viewpoint with breathtaking views and an informational sign. It is possible to take a beautiful walk around the lake in approximately 1 hour.
A very nice view, but bring some sturdy shoes.
