The majority of the road leading to the highway is rough and dusty, currently dry. We turned back 500m before sunset due to numerous potholes and camped at a safe distance from the highway. It was a peaceful night's sleep with occasional visits from large flocks of sheep. There was minimal traffic, but some litter and construction debris.
