There is a small parking space located near a lock, offering convenient access to a compact campsite with a toilet and ferry access. This tranquil location provides an opportunity for a peaceful and solitary experience. Enjoy beautiful views of the Elbe river and be partially surrounded by nature. The friendly locals may pass by, but they are welcoming. The parking space has room for multiple cars, and the lock employee is accommodating, even willing to stay overnight on the premises.
The place is beautiful and the public parking lot is excellent. However, it is not permitted to park there as it is a flood control area and the entrances need to be clear for potential emergencies. Please be considerate and use the lovely parking lot down by the dock. The staff was very friendly and explained politely why we couldn't park upstairs.
This is a lovely spot situated a short distance away from the ferry by the drawbridge. You can enjoy partial views of the adjacent cow pasture. The road leading to the ferry can be busy at times, but not overly noisy. It tends to get quite crowded during peak season. There are restrooms available on the way to the ferry, next to the café.
