There is a good gravel road past the military post that can accommodate all types of vehicles. We parked higher up along the road. If you have a better vehicle than ours, you can drive all the way to the base camp.

There is a beautiful view along the road with several stopping points. Locals do not mind. Herds of cattle often pass by, along with a grandmother and her watchful dogs, so be careful when letting your own dog loose. It’s a great spot for hiking.
