There is a flat gravel car park near the closed Carrick forest drive road. It offers several parking spaces and is located in a scenic spot with beautiful views of the Loch, stream, and surrounding forests. The area is peaceful and serene, perfect for nature lovers. Please note that the car park can get busy with hikers. Overnight parking is allowed, but it is important to take your rubbish with you. We have had issues with littering in the past, and we want to maintain the cleanliness of the Galloway forest.
There is a gravel car park located at the end of a rough road, near the edge of a Loch. However, it lacks amenities such as services, bins, and signal. During our stay in April, we were disturbed by loud music from a group of campers near the river. The view from the car park is reasonably good. Despite the disturbance, it's understandable considering the scenic location.
