Ananuri offers a picturesque view of the fortress. It is a serene and easily reachable location, though the small bridge may pose a challenge for larger vehicles. You can find shade from the surrounding bushes and take a refreshing dip in the nearby lake. The area allows for flexible parking and overnight stays. Please be mindful of the litter in the vicinity; we managed to clean a significant amount in just a few minutes. Let's strive to leave the place cleaner than we found it.
Beautiful lakeside location with ample parking options. The access road may be bumpy, but it is still manageable without a 4x4 vehicle. Please note that a portion of the road near the narrow bridge in Anauri has collapsed and is no longer passable. Instead, use the bridge further north at Pavleuri.
Important note: The bridge in Ananuri remains closed, so it is recommended to cross the river in Pavleuri. Though the journey to the lake may take some time, it is a manageable drive. There is ample parking space along the lakeshore. We have taken the initiative to collect and remove some litter, with the hope of eventually making the shore litter-free.
