There is a parking area called Parking Harbor Burgstaaken that offers around 25 spaces for parking overnight. During the day, visitors can enjoy fish snacks, browse the souvenir shop, and visit the boat trips, submarine, and lifeboat museums. However, please note that the public toilets are only available during opening hours. Additionally, there is a tourist tax that needs to be paid for using the parking lot.
Great place for an overnight stay. Unfortunately, one cannot stay longer. Everything you need is available, including restaurants. At the harbor by the grain silo, there is a small wooden stand where you can buy fresh produce like kohlrabi, broccoli, cabbage, and romanesco directly from the producer at a reasonable price. It's really fantastic.
We enjoy the location of this place, with its market stalls and its proximity to a small harbor with restaurants, a fish sandwich bar, and a cafe serving delicious cakes. However, the infrastructure is lacking. While there are showers and toilets available, there is no proper waste disposal system, no fresh water supply, and no facilities for emptying greywater and waste tanks. On the bright side, gas bottles can be obtained at Johanssen Metallbau on Hafenstrasse.
