This place is slightly noisy due to the nearby highway, but it is still a beautiful spot. It could benefit from some maintenance. There are no facilities for supplies or waste disposal.

This picnic island is conveniently reachable by van and offers a serene setting. On the outskirts of Themar, there is a petrol station with toilets and a bistro located about 50m away. The picnic area is situated alongside the flat river bank of the Werra, providing an inviting spot for relaxation.

Great spot for canoeing with little traffic. Stayed there overnight and had a wonderful time. The water was clean, and there were hardly any mosquitoes. Met friendly people and there's space for about 5 campervans. Easy access and parking, including for trailers. Will definitely return. Please keep the place clean. Thank you.
