There is a nice picnic area next to the campground. We stopped there for lunch. It wasn't crowded on a weekday.

Convenient rest stop just 5 minutes from the highway exit. There is a spacious picnic area surrounded by pine trees. It can get crowded on weekends, but we stayed overnight on a weekday and it was pleasantly quiet.
