The ferry parking is closed on weekends and public holidays. Today, the small sandy beach is very peaceful, although it gets busier when the ferry service is operating. There is also a museum ship located by the river.
There was a peaceful and relaxed overnight stay at a parking bay. The ferry operates from 10 am on weekends, so there was no car noise. Chairs and other belongings should be kept inside the motorhome/caravan. A few steps away is the Elbe River, providing a beautiful view.
The ferry is currently not operating due to maintenance. It is a peaceful location with only sheep and birds. Please note that this area is a biosphere reserve. However, it is allowed to park in the designated area, as even the police have no objections and have greeted visitors kindly on their patrols. Please behave appropriately.
