We spent the night of 3/08 there. We were alone, and it was very quiet. There was a slight sulfur smell in the air, indicating that Mount Etna is nearby. We encountered quite a few gnats once the night fell.
This campsite offers a pleasant location surrounded by tall pine trees. There are several parking spots available, making it convenient for visitors. While it can get busy during weekend days, it becomes peaceful and quiet at night. Additionally, it is conveniently located near Rifugio Ragabo and the trail known as Pista Altomontana, which enables hikers to explore Mount Etna for nearly 40km.
