This location is a peaceful spot in the heart of the Marchiennes forest, perfect for taking a break or catching some rest. It features a convenient picnic table and serves as the starting point for a hiking trail. The tranquility of this place is ensured by the low traffic, as the road leading here is one-way and there's a separate cycle path. Although there may be a few mosquitoes in the evening due to the onset of warmer weather, overall it is a calm and serene environment. It's worth noting that you may not have access to the SFR network here, which can actually be seen as an advantage if you wish to disconnect and enjoy a technology-free break.

There is a beautiful forest where many people go jogging in the morning. There is a flat parking area with gravel, and it can accommodate a few campers. It is appreciated that there is enough space between each camper, showing respect for others. However, there is an issue with a lot of toilet paper and wipes being left behind. It is important to note that wipes are not environmentally friendly as they do not break down naturally. Additionally, using toilet paper and leaving it behind can be unpleasant for the next person who visits. It is recommended to collect all the toilet paper and wipes, put them in a bag, and properly dispose of them. It is also advised to walk a short distance away, dig a hole, and use it for bathroom purposes, making sure to avoid doing so within 200 meters of any water source. Other than this issue, the forest offers a peaceful and enjoyable experience.

The parking lot is spacious, and we parked on a grassy area towards the back. We didn't notice any human activity during the night. However, the reception for cellular signals is extremely poor.

This spot is situated in a remote location, but it may take some time to reach and leave due to the presence of numerous speed bumps and a one-way system. The forest offers several other similar spots, in addition to the two mentioned. However, it should be noted that there is a lot of activity in the woods, which may not be suitable for those who are easily frightened. The sound of twigs snapping can create a sense of curiosity about what might be present in the surroundings.
