There is a lane near the Dartmoor Inn in Lydford. To access it, you need to go through a wooden gate. There is ample parking space along the rough track. Although technically not allowed to stay overnight due to Dartmoor regulations, it is unlikely that anyone would enforce it if you chose to do so.
The place was not used for overnight stay but served as a resting spot during the day. It had direct access to the moor, which was convenient for walking the dog. It was quite crowded in the morning, but one can safely assume that it is peaceful and serene during nighttime.
