There is a small church that holds Sunday services located on a flat area. It is a suitable spot for overnight stays. Although there is no water available, the area is shaded by the church. It is conveniently situated near some of the most stunning beaches in Maratea. One beach, called Ficarra, offers the option of taking a shower for just one euro. Additionally, both beaches provide the opportunity to rent canoes.
When we arrived there three days ago, we found that the gate was closed and we couldn't access it. However, it was a very beautiful area! We ended up sleeping in the train station parking lot (more information can be found in the comments).
