The location offers a beautiful view and is very peaceful with few people around and plenty of space. However, there is often a strong wind, which can make it challenging to sleep in a rooftop tent.
Mont Caume is the highest mountain in Toulon, reaching an altitude of 800m. It offers exceptional views of the city. The road to the mountain is narrow, so it's best to visit in the morning to avoid encountering other vehicles. Access is limited to vans only, and motorhomes should avoid this route. There is a light wind at the summit and parking is available day and night, but camping equipment such as tables and chairs are not allowed. Despite its limited space, the mountain is not heavily frequented, ensuring tranquility at night. It is approximately a 40-minute drive from the center of Toulon.

Enjoy panoramic views of Toulon and the harbor to the south, as well as to the north. The road is narrow and not heavily trafficked. During my trip, I encountered only one car and nineteen cyclists. The terrain is relatively flat, but it can be challenging for longer stretches. Excellent 4G connectivity is available.
