It is a peaceful place to stay. In the evening, local security asked me to relocate to Tatahoine for safety reasons.

You can stay near Chenini on a mesa with good views. There's good 4G coverage and access is via a road leading to the mosque. The final stretch is on a dirt path, but regular cars can manage it.

Great parking spot with a nice view. The guardian of the old mosque is an excellent guide, especially for the old village nearby. We gave him 20 TD and a pen as a token of appreciation. Highly recommended.
