Franz Josef's Land Resort and Nature Camp in Gottsdorf is a wonderfully picturesque destination with breathtaking views! Upon arrival in Gottsdorf, there is a clearly marked sign leading to the country resort, making it easily accessible. From the resort, you can enjoy panoramic views of the majestic Alps on the horizon, while the tranquil Danube River flows through the nearby valley. The surroundings are abundant with nature, making it a perfect place for relaxation and rejuvenation. Additionally, the resort is suitable for accommodating large motorhomes, ensuring a comfortable stay for all visitors.
This is a great campsite that offers affordable prices, spacious pitches, and a peaceful environment. They also have washing machines and dryers available for €3.50. The bathroom facilities are clean and the staff is friendly. The cost for a night, including accommodations for 2 adults, 2 children, a car, a tent, and electricity, is approximately €37. Hot water is included and can be accessed using a card system.
This is an honest review of a campsite that falls short of a 5-star rating. When we called in the morning, we were informed that reception would be open until 7pm. However, when we arrived at 6pm, reception was already closed. Thankfully, we were able to check in at the Bistro. The staff there were friendly, although they didn't speak much English. We encountered some issues with the shower cards, as they didn't work and had to be replaced twice. Unfortunately, we found the food at the Bistro to be basic and not worth dining there. On a positive note, the pitches at the campsite were spacious and the overall site was kept clean. However, we felt that there was a somewhat somber atmosphere throughout our stay.
We had the opportunity to test the place during the summer. Although there are currently some renovations taking place, it is already a perfect spot to relax a bit. The restroom facilities are very clean and spacious. It is only a short 500-meter walk to the Lang Inn, where you can enjoy excellent food. Everything was perfect!
