We have a conservation breeding program for the endangered Baudet du Poitou donkey in Rehburg. You can have the unique experience of spending a night in the beautiful green surroundings of the donkey pasture at the Meerbruchwiesen. The parking space is most suitable for compact vehicles up to 7m in length. Please remember to bring your own camping toilet and waste water container. Noise from artificial intelligence and the roosters should not be a problem. The location is perfect for hiking, biking, and mountain biking. Just a few kilometers away is the Steinhuder-Meer, the largest lake in northwest Germany, with many tourist attractions. If you're interested, guided tours of the farm and the breeding program can be arranged. Rehburg-Loccum is a town in Lower Saxony, Germany, with a population of over 10,000. There are also several nearby attractions such as the Loccum Monastery, Dinopark, Romantik Bad Rehburg, and more.
We had our first night in our camper van. The welcome was friendly and we received helpful instructions. The night was peaceful for us and two other campers. In the morning, we were awakened by roosters and the sound of the stork. As people from the countryside, it didn't bother us. On the contrary! We would love to come back again, but for a longer period next time!
