Wooden Lake campsite, operated by Mecklenburg Tourist GmbH, primarily offers long-term fixed sites for permanent campers. However, they also accommodate overnight campers who wish to stay for just one night.
We had a pleasant conversation with the owner of the campsite over the phone who accepted our last-minute request during peak travel season. The campsite is beautiful, surrounded by trees and with direct access to a sandy lake. The only drawback is that the bathroom facilities are quite old. The shower house is small and costs €1.50 for 3 minutes. There is also a small kiosk offering fries and currywurst, which is quite decent.
Enjoy the warm and friendly welcome of Berlin, with a lovely view of the lake. Despite it being midweek and not during the holidays, the location is still very picturesque. The bathroom facilities may be a bit outdated, but they are perfectly adequate. It's a great area for paddling and cycling, with everything you need readily available. Overall, it can't be that bad since it's my second time here!
