There are designated parking spaces available at the former train station in Roetgen. These spaces are clearly marked with signage, so you can easily identify them. The train station is now a site located on the cycle path called Vennbahn or Ravel line 48, which leads towards Luxembourg. It is important to note that the parking area is situated on Belgian territory.
Staying overnight at the city depot of Roetgen and a large construction company feels quite overwhelming. Starting from 7 o'clock in the morning, there are loud construction works happening right next to the parked motorhomes. Huge trucks and excavators are maneuvering around the vehicles. I had planned to cycle along the Vennbahn cycle path, but due to concerns for the safety of my motorhome, I decided to leave the area as soon as possible.
The place is not aesthetically pleasing, but it is functional and conveniently located right by the Vennbahn trail. It is ideal for those who want to go on cycling trips along the Vennbahn trail or explore the High Fens area. There are shops for everyday needs nearby. Please note that there is no service available.
This is a beautiful and well-located parking spot. It is a great place to stay for one or two nights.
