The parking lot at the CCF station in Vișeu de Sus provides convenient access to the tourist steam train. It is a flat and secure area for cars, although shade is limited. There are bathrooms available, but no showers or camper facilities. After the train ride, some seats may become available. Tickets can be purchased at the train station.
The train station has a large gravel parking area that is free to use, but there are no facilities available except for trash bins and public toilets located inside the station. While the area may be a bit noisy and lacking shade, it is convenient for those who want to travel by train.
I visited Mocanita on 22.01. Unfortunately, I do not recommend it for campers. They do not provide water or electricity, and the designated parking area was closed for construction. They directed us to a muddy parking area. When we asked for water, they said it was okay but only provided a small amount, thinking we needed a bucket. The staff was not friendly and helpful.
