Lake Hegyesd is a serene destination with a beautiful spine tree area. Visitors have the option to stop near the lake or explore further into the trees. Although swimming is not allowed due to it being a fishlake, some people have been seen swimming there. If swimming is desired, Lake Balaton is nearby. The dirt road leading to the lake from Tapolca is easy to navigate, while the route from Monostorapati is a bit rough but doesn't require a 4X4 vehicle. At Monostorapati, there is a football field and a blue streettap for water. Lake Hegyesd offers a peaceful alternative to the crowded Lake Balaton. It is important to be cautious with campfires, especially in the summer when open fires are restricted. The area is prone to fires, so it is advised to build fireplaces from rocks and have plenty of water nearby. Lastly, visitors are reminded to respect the environment by not littering.

This place is ideal for a stay. However, it is important to note that the road from the North can be challenging for campervans, especially during rainy conditions. It is advisable to have a 4-wheel drive vehicle in such situations. Overall, it is a wonderful stopover for travelers heading South from Finland.
