Delightful campsite located just outside of the city. Spacious pitches and excellent amenities. Some pitches may experience road noise from the nearby highway, but not all and it is quiet during the night. Beautiful river view with safe cycling routes into the city. Different prices based on pitch type and location. There is a bicycle path running along the campsite and a ferry pontoon 2 km away for crossing the river. Please note that there is a siesta period from 13:00 to 15:00 when the gate and reception are closed. Limited parking is available outside the gate, partly on the bicycle path. Guests will be provided with a key to access the gate and fence door.
We reserved a spot for our camper. Due to traffic, we will be arriving 20 minutes after closing time (6pm). We called to inform them and were told that they would not wait and have cancelled our reservation. After insisting and mentioning that we have a baby, we were informed that they would not assist us, as we were only staying for one night.
This campground is well located for visiting Frankfurt, and it is the only one outside of the low emission zone. There are bike paths along the Main river that can take you to the city center in just 20 minutes. It's not necessary to choose a "comfort" pitch, as they don't offer a view of the Main and you'll still experience noise from the road. The restrooms are modern, convenient, and clean. It is a bit expensive for an "highway rest area" atmosphere.
