There is a spacious parking area in front of a small park, located by a lake. The park offers picnic tables nestled under trees, and there is also a small café nearby. It is a popular spot for a lunch break, especially for those traveling on the nearby highway. Local Portuguese families often bring their grandmothers here for a pleasant walk around the lake and to enjoy a picnic.
We stayed overnight on our way to Viana do Castelo. Arriving at night, we found only a couple of parked cars. We had a peaceful sleep. The next day, we enjoyed a coffee at the bar and took a walk around the beautiful lake. There are barbecue grills, water taps, and bathrooms available. However, shade is scarce in the parking area during midday.
We spent a night alone in the parking lot. Some cars passed by during the night, but they didn't bother us.
