There is a peaceful picnic spot by a small river, surrounded by oak and eucalyptus trees. It has toilets, water, barbecues, and tables. It can be reached by van but not by motorhome due to narrow access. We visited in August and had the place to ourselves. To get there, avoid the dirt roads and instead take the road through the hamlet of Fiopans, where a turn to the east leads to the recreational area.

We found a wonderful place, although the road was a bit challenging, our Dokker had no problem going up. We stayed there for two nights, where we had complete privacy for sleeping, with only the occasional visit from a fisherman during the day. There was a refreshing river for swimming, showers, and facilities for barbecuing.

Access to the location may be tricky. It is best to take the paved road from the center of the town, rather than the dirt tracks. The site is beautiful, although the abundance of tables and facilities may take away some of its charm. However, it does have amenities such as bathrooms and water. Additionally, being in a valley with a river, it is cooler than the surrounding area, which can be a plus on hot days.
