Camping at the Kost is a convenient place to stay, located near the Ruhr river and close to the restaurant An der Kost and Koster bridge. The charming Hattinger old town is just 3 km away. The campsite offers a beautiful location with a large bridge nearby, but it's good to note that there might be some noise. It's a great spot for water sports enthusiasts, with grass fields available for setting up camp.
The campsite is located in a beautiful and peaceful area along the Ruhr river. There are 30 pitches, which are mostly occupied by long-term campers. During our stay, we were the only ones on the site. The sanitary facilities are basic, older but very clean. One thing that bothered us was the charge of €9 for electricity (€6 per day plus €3 for connection), making the one-night stay quite expensive at €30 considering what was offered. However, this campsite has great potential.
The location is quite expensive considering what is being offered. It is right by a busy highway (bridge) and the spaces are very small. The bathrooms are also on the smaller side and lack changing facilities in the showers. Overall, I would not choose to visit this place again.
