Instead, continue driving until you reach a large layby at the top of the hill located at coordinates 53.921065,-2.093866. It offers a scenic view but is unfortunately plagued by instances of illegal waste dumping and has visible CCTV signs. Though the layby has some deep potholes, it is spacious enough to park and positioned at a safe distance from the road. Additionally, there is a strong 4G signal from the EE network in this area.
