This former clay pit has been transformed into a natural parking space. It is situated in a peaceful area, with a train station nearby which does not operate during the night. Eisenach can be reached by car in approximately 20 minutes, while Bad Salzungen is just a 15-minute drive away.
This place is wonderfully calm and peaceful. It offers great hiking and biking trails. It has all the necessary amenities for campers. We definitely plan on coming back. Electrical hookups are available. The registration office is also very nice.
This peaceful place is a great starting point for exploring various attractions like the Drachenschlucht, Wartburg, Besucherbergwerk Merkers, Schloß Altenstein, and Solestadt. It's also perfect for a two-day break to relax and unwind. The operator is friendly and always up for a chat. Amenities include water, electricity, and a chemical toilet disposal facility. I would happily return.
