The Lay-by at the foot of Pendle Hill, a beautiful local area, remains peaceful. It is known for being the home of the Penske witches. The area is characterized by windy conditions and lack of amenities. However, on clear mornings, stunning views can be enjoyed. Nearby Barley offers convenient access to clean public toilets and great pubs.

This accommodation was chosen for a Friday night stay after visiting Pendle Hill. The road was quite busy during the day, with some late-night drivers and early morning tractors. However, between midnight and 6am, it was peaceful and uninterrupted. The location had excellent phone signal for EE users, and there were toilets available just a short 5-minute drive away.
