There is a parking lot at the observation tower Hohenrain, which is located near Wäldi in the canton of Thurgau. The tower, built in 2016, stands at a height of 36 meters. Visitors are allowed to climb the tower for free between 8 am and 6 pm. The parking lot is small and peaceful, providing a quiet spot to rest for up to 12 hours. While there are no services available, it offers a tranquil place to spend the night.
The parking lot is well-maintained and visually pleasing, though it may not be completely level. Despite this, I had a peaceful night without any disturbances. For optimal satellite reception, it is recommended to park near the entrance. I am grateful to the individuals responsible for creating these parking spaces.
This is a great spot for an overnight stay. During the day, some hikers park their cars here. However, it becomes very quiet in the evening and night. The adjacent road is also not heavily trafficked at that time. The parking lot is sloping, but at the upper end, it should have enough space for 2-3 vehicles.
