Whakamaru Reserve is located by Lake Whakamaru, surrounded by beautiful forest. Self-contained caravans and campervans can stay free for the first two nights, after which a camping permit is needed. This permit can be obtained from local council offices or information centers. Facilities include clean toilets and rubbish bins.
