When driving down from the layby to the beach, avoid turning right as the area may appear dry but can be misleading. Instead, stay on the rocks to find a nice spot to enjoy your time.
We had a small Volkswagen van and easily navigated between two large stones at the start of the trail from the parking area. We parked at a spot before the river crossing, which requires a 4x4. It offered a great view of the loch and the sunrise.
The path is now blocked by two large rocks, making it impossible to access the nice spot by the water.
