The restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings, Mondays, and Tuesdays. Reservations can be made via email. To reach the restaurant, follow the sign for "Alp Egg" from the main road in Ricken, which is located at an altitude of 800m above sea level. The restaurant car park is found after a 4 km drive and is situated at an altitude of 1200m above sea level. In winter, if there is snow on the access road, the car park is only accessible by sled as cars are not allowed. Overnight stays are only possible if dinner is consumed in the restaurant. The cost of overnight stays starts at CHF 80.00 and is free if dinner is consumed, otherwise, there is a charge of CHF 20.00 per night. Pets must be kept on a leash around the house and parking lot. There is no public toilet available, so it is necessary to have a toilet inside your vehicle. The area offers beautiful hiking opportunities, and in the summer, there are cows on the alp. The restaurant also offers a beautiful view of the Glarner Alps, Säntis area, Jura chain, and Lake Constance.
